Well first of i like to say Hello to ya all...

I recently got my self a K110D and i'm happy with it but like to ask a few things about it as the last time i used a camera was around 15 years ago when my dad owned a Pentax camera.

First is the lens that comes default with this camera there seems to be faint lines on it which you can see though the view finder or some times on the picture when looking real close. They look kinda like finger prints but there not.

I did check loads of cameras before picking this one but as soon as i picked this one up i did not want to give it back lmao

Is this normal ?.

My second question is that i am thinking of getting another lens for it so when taking pictures i do not need to be so close to whot i need. With being on a tight bugget would any of you reconmend one of these over the other or even a differant one ?. And whot would the advantages and dis advantages be.

Pentax 75-300 mm F4.5-5.8 SMCP-FA J AL
Pentax 50-200 mm F4-5.6 ED AF smc P-DA Zoom Lens

My third question is there a good jpeg resizer other than photoshop be better if it was free :P ?.

Thank You

If it is visible when looking "through" the viewfinder, it is the pattern of the focus screen. It is more visible with slower lenses.

Yes.

Pentax 50-200 mm F4-5.6 ED AF smc P-DA Zoom Lens
Recommend this one.

Thanks for the reply.

Any chance of ya telling me why the Pentax 50-200 mm F4-5.6 ED AF smc P-DA Zoom Lens ?. As the 300mm would give me more zoom in right ?.

200mm on K100D is practically like 300mm on film body. At f5.6 300mm, you will soon discover not quite handholdable unless with very good light. With 300mm zoom, it will be even harder. Not to mention no budget 300mm zooms are sharp at the long end. Consider the DA is quite compact, there is no practical reason to go for the FAJ.

In a way it is right. I just happen to have this FAj 75-300. It is sharp provided it is at least above 5.6 and pref F8 or above. Ample or ideal lighting siutation is necessary as well.

It is of decent quality at its price range.

Funny you should ask that because on my first weekend out with my K100 a few weeks ago my husband mentioned the same thing when he was looking through the 18-55 kit lens.

It's Free, but a bit more user-intensive than the other suggestions. If you are looking to learn and increase your use, though, it's got most of the major features, it's open source which means that there are a ton of free plug-ins and scripts for it (expandable), and there is a good Raw converter plug-in that handles .pef files if you decide to go RAW.

gimp.org, or something like that.
