Hi,

I can buy (for cheap) an Auto-Alpa 50mm 1:1.7 lens (made in Japan).

Does any1 have more info on that brand and on their 50mm f1.7 lens?

If any1 else wants those, I can have 3 or 4 of them, and also some 28mm f2.8 and sell them on ebay.

Thx

I'm sorry but I have no idea as to the answer to your question, but this'll give you a friendly nudge back up the page until someone with more knowledge than I can (hopefully), chime in and point you in the right direction. But I did a goole search on Alpa lenses, and found out that it was made for use with a Nikon, I don't know if they were made to fit other mounts as well though. Refer to the link below, this is where I found the information. It was the only page that I could find on the internet, so I don't think these things were a very popular item.

Didn't Alpa make very nice and expensive SLR's back in the 70's?... Weren't they Swiss? I might be thinking of another company, but I think Alpa is what I'm thinking of...

A bit about Alpha can be found at "Third Party Lens Manufactures" http://medfmt.8k.com/third/mfg.html Note: Because of so much text, you will have to do a "Find (on this Page)" Cntrl+F, then enter alpha in the search box.

Thx for that link, now I at least know the lens is a genuine Auto-Alpa (it's the one mounted on the Alpa Si 2000).

It's a bit strange tho, bcs I already found that site, but couldn't find the lense on their site for Japan made lenses: http://www.alpareflex.com/Lenses/Japan.htm

Now, I just have to wait for the K10D to see who it performs...
