Have an opportunity to make some money on the side shooting real estate including panoramic VR images.

Has anyone had any experience with the Kaidan 360 VR?

I know stitching will produce the best results, but these images aren't for a museum, rather for marketing on websites. So, if I can get an acceptable (I know this is subjective), preferably good looking image in lieu of a fantastic, wow-worthy image, I'd be very happy.

Is it easy to get proper exposures with this? I've seen some some examples shot with the kodak 14n and they look quite good for VR to me.

Anyway, looking for opinions on this item.

Thanks.

Hi tarzantaz,

This is a pretty specialised piece of equipment, I'm not surprised you didn't get any replies.

I haven't used it (I'm a stitcher :-), but you may have more luck with other users here:

Good discussions here on equipment (plus techniques, software, places to post, business, etc...)

Good luck!

I'll try once more...

Hi,

I use this, though I agree stitching is the best solution for Panoramic images, they don't make financial sense when dealing in the residential real estate market. I found you can barely charge enough for your time if you stitch the images.

The 360 One VR and it's software (Photowarp) work amazingly fast in producing a serviceable 360 image in a variety of viewers. You can even set the sofware to write the HTML page and have it search for the correct viewer based on the Visitors browser and plug-ins.

You need a camera with a macro lens. AVOID AT ALL COSTS the SLR bracket. It is cumbersome and inaccurate. I use a nikon 5700 set in macro made, and a step up ring. The 360 One VR is 67mm threads. Set the aperture at a small setting (f16). You can have problems with the exposure with overexposed windows and dark corners, but if you set the camera correctly you can achieve excellent results. I have also used my D200 though I haven't made the investment to set up the D200 to be used all the time.

The build quality on the 360 One VR model 2 is excellent and packs well in a large camera bag.
Good Luck, feel free to ask any additional questions.
