My anniversary, 2 years on the forum

--Just wanted you to know while I was lurking here, your posts were
some of the ones I made a point to peruse. Thanks for all you
input.
Thanks, David.

It means alot to me to know that I have hopefully made a valuable contribution to this forum.
Interesting lens list compared to what you have now. Ever wish you
still had your FA28-80 so you could have passed on the FA 28-70?!
LOL.

Err, I actually still have the FA28-80 and no I would never even consider using it any more. ;-)

LOL, great post! Embarassing indeed, so would say that shy little country boy would become this grown man in such little time! It's good to see those kids grow! LOL! :D

I can see your equipment has changed a little ...gasp, gasp... besides the D, do you still have any of those??
cheers!

I still have the FA28-80 f3.5-4.7, AF200S flash and the Vivitar 500mm f8 mirror but I "purged" myself of the FA100-300 f4.5-5.6 and the Sigma 24mm f2.8. ;-)

Hum, i see... i assume you don't have anything to cover this 28-80 range (like a certain 28-70 lens with a * on it), no FGZ540 flash and no FA*300mm with tc to match the 500mm... poor Lance! :)

I am wondering how many folks make it to the two year mark.

Yes I remember those names you list and others. But then there are the newer folks. We have a good healthy forum with people on all areas of the photography learning curve, not to mention folks like me who are lucky if they can remember how to turn on their camera from day to day ;-)

I am looking forward to see more of your work over the coming year and your 3 year anniversary post.

Wow!! 2 years, I thought you were on line when I started, but it was only 6 month difference. I started in February. Oh well, time flies when you're having fun.

I look forward to the next 2 years.

Hi Lance,

Just took a peek at Wally's initial response and found this (the following) bit kind of
humerous in a ironic way:

wally oz said* I purchased my *istD in Australia with the Pentax FAJ 18-35 lens and after a lot of frustration and time wasting dissapointment discovered like many others that the Pentax FAJ 18-35 Lens was the PROBLEM.

I returned it replacing it with the 2 Sigma lens kit 18-50 & 55-200.

I am very happy with 2 sigma lenses, can't fault them, inexpensive, small, light and produce excellent images with my *istD.

I don't agree AT ALL that the Sigma 18-50 is an "el cheapo" lens.

Inexpensive YES, perhaps Sigma's level of greed is lower than Pentax's.

:D

Hey Giorgos,
Wow, when you show it like that it really becomes evident as to how
far LBA has me in it's grip!
Thanks for showing the comparison as I never really thought about
it until now. Oh Dear!
Seriously now. Congratulation for your 2nd anniversary. I entered this forum 8 months ago and I soon realized that if LanceB is posting, then a valuble information or a bunch of nice photos are in there! Thank you for your contribution in this forum Lance.

Thank you for all of your help, advice, critique, and support that you have offered to us, your extended family. The only reason that I would wish to visit Sidney is to have a chance to meet you and your family (there are other places in Australia that I'd rather visit, given the opportunity)..
