I bought a C-2100 just last August from dbuys.com for $512 and out of curiosity checked the price today at the same site and it's $697.

That's a pretty big increase for a camera long rumored to be "discontinued" even more so when you see CompUSA selling it for less than $400

So just what is the mark up on cameras online 100-150% ? and retail stores must be 200% ?
Just amazes me that the price seems more volatile than the S&P 500
BTW:I think it's a great camera even for $700 :)--Michael

Might be just poor website maintenance. I've seen some sites out there that still list cameras that have been discontinued for a couple of years, but still show up listing their original price...like old 1 megapixel cameras for six or seven hundred bucks. They may have deleted the current price page when they stopped carrying the camera, but the old pages still show up when you perform a search. That would be my guess, but if you want to confirm that, just give them a call.

Standard markup is 100%. I would bet that changes a lot when you get someone like CompUSA or BestBuy involved. I tend to think that the 2100 isn't going away. Now if there is a 3100, even at a much higher price, it might. I would think that a replacement would be lined up first and so far there isn't one.

I bought mine from buydig.com in August for $505. It is listed at $599 now

but out of stock. It had gone up a month or more ago when I checked. Maybe they read us and know it's in demand. --21oo, B-3oo3o4oJuli

Haven't seen it selling at CompUSA for under $400...best I have seen is
$469....It is $499 here in Alabama

I paid $469 for my 2100 at CompUSA.
