I'm debating between the 750 and S600. My 850, while I've learned to tweak the settings more and get better pics thanks to all you find people in this forum, still does not give me what I need.

Does the 750 and S600 have the same sensor? I've read on here that the 850 has a different sensor. So my question is will the image and video quality be the same between the 750 and S600??

If so, I may go with the S600. If not, I'll probably go with the 750. One of the things I'm looking to rectify with the second camera is the grainy indoor pics that I get in my house. The outdoor ones seem pretty good but the indoor ones are pretty terrible.

All i can offer is that i have read a number of posts over time that have complained about bad stills with the 600 but have yet to see that with the 750. I think you'll get differing opinions but from what i've read the 600 still shots aren't perticulary good. I don't think anyone is going to tell you the 600 is better than the 750 and few if any will say it's as good.

Better than either of my 850's, and WAY better than the first one which was extremely noisy. You may have one just like it. But realize that no camera can shoot in low light w/o some help of some sort, so you will always get SOME noise unless the subject is close and you use flash. I think the most imortant thing you can do considering your dilemma that you're in is to buy where you can return the camera easily w/o restocking fees. I think if you post some full size pics it would make it much easier for anyone to tell you whether this camera or that would be better, plus diagnose what you may be doing wrong and whether your 850 may be defective. At this point i fear even the 750 may not make you happy, and i really don't know what to tell you w/o seeing pics that you are dis-satisfied with. Because then i can say, yes, the 750 will do that better or no, neither will make you happy. If low light is going to be where you use it most, maybe the Fuji F30 might be your best bet. Bart has that and the 750 and prefers it, plus it's a camera said to be superior to most in low light. Try asking Bart what he thinks since he has both the 750 and fuji.

Here are some sample photos from my recently-aquired Z750:

I think I have 1 indoor, long-exposure shot in there, but I'm going to try and post a few more as I dig through my collection. The outdoor results are incredible and blow me away. Way better than any of the Canon A-series cameras I've owned and in some ways better than my Nikon D70 SLR.

For some of them I tweak the settings so that saturation is even higher than normal, like the blue car.

Reviews say the 750 by default has high saturation, and they put this as a "con." But I actually love high saturation!

In the reviews they're referring to the 750 with the initial 1.00 firmware. The high sat was lowered with the later versions, so if you have one of those it's not considered high sat. Mine is less saturated than a canon but more than the 850. i think it's just right even tho i too like high sat. But when i want that i can doo it in a second with photoshop.

Question: How do you find out which firmware release your camera is loaded with??

Just by turning it on while holding down the munu button. Mine was 1.01, the first release not counting the initial firmware. I ten updated it to 1.02.

I'd definately reccomend the Z750. I have put mine through the ringer getting pics and videos and it's never let me down. I even took it to Tahoe and have videos going down black diamonds that turned out great. Took some tumbles down double diamond moguls with it in my pocket and it works perfectly still. Videos are great and so is pic quality. I rarely use my z850 anymore because I love the z750 so much still.

It's good to hear that you like the 750 so much. I think dazco feels the same way. It's folks like you that convinced me to get the 750. It will most likely happen sometime this week or next.

I'm not sure what I'll do with the 850 after if I like the 750 as much as you guys say I will. The price seems to be dropping so quickly it's scary. Good for the consumer but bad for the folks who have had not so good experiences with them.

Chalk it up to a learning experience. Like i said a while ago, i'm in the same boat needing to sell my 850. I'll take a big hit, but it's over and done with so i just chalk it up to experience and take heart in knowing i'm happy as a clam with the camera i have now. And that my total cost at the end of all this is an amount i'd have been willing to pay for the 750 anyway because i love the thing so much ! Besides, if it works out as well for you as it did for me you'll be too busy looking at a ton of kiddy pics to worry about a few bucks ! I just hope you love th 750 as much as i do. I honestly think that even with it's flaws, and face it all cams have flaws, it's the best subcompact camera there is. Thats just my opinion, but thats a mouthfull.

Yes, experience. The good thing about these casio cameras is that it has forced me to learn a little about photography and now I'm hooked. I appreciate pics much more and don't just take pics of my girls. Well, I do that mostly, but I try to get more creative with the shots.

I hope I like the 750, too. I may just keep my 850 or give/sell it to someone not so picky as me. I do like the movie light and all that so I will miss that.
