I thought they had all been successfully transferred to my PC, so I used the PC to delete them on the card.

I was wrong.

A freeware file recovery program --FreeUndelete 2.0 --managed to recover them. However, I cannot view or open them.

Windows raw viewer - shows the files, but no thumbnails. Size seems right.
C1 - says "This collection is empty."
ACR - shows files, but no thumbnails. Shows no EXIF data.

PS CS2 - says "Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document." Adobe forum shows that error message is usually a question of ACR settings, but other raw files open without problem. I updated ACR and purged the folder and central cache, but that did not solve the problem.

Has anyone run into this problem?

Thanks,

Frank

just keep trying other recovery software, as long as you do not re use the card there is hope.

it happen to me and to my surprise when using Sandisk recovery software it even pull out year old images buried somewhere in my card despite many use & format...

also you have the option to send it to card manufacturer, some offer the service at a cost.

Andrew,

Yes, that did the trick.

Thank you very much.

The photorec guy is very very good, I had lost some minolta RAW files, he added support for them in a day or so.

Hello Andrew, I am slightly confused. Are these 2 separate software downloads, one for Photo Rec and one for Test Disk -- or are they both included in the one download of 1,311 kb for file name::: testdisk-6.4.win.zip

Vernon...

When you download, you get both files.
