Something different (1 img)

Thanks.

What pleases me isn't always what pleases others. I'm drawn to dark and moody for some reason, and my favorite images (of mine) are usually far from a perfect exposure. That's okay though, as I really need to please me first.

Thanks again.

I think with more snow it wouldn't look so desolate. That won't happen for a while now though. It's a ways from civilization that's for sure.

That's another photo worth of framing and hanging on the wall. Great composition and lighting, really nice, well worth the 3hr round trip.

Thanks for sharing this fine pic.

Very nice. I like the composition with the boat in the foreground. Definitely worth the 80minute drive! :-)

Thanks Lance.

Sometimes I feel silly because I can't find the time to take a drive like this. Now if I were still single...................

I agree, I just didn't realize it until the canoe was gone. I initially thought it was a good spot to shoot the mountain and it's reflection in the water, and I was wishing the canoe wasn't there. I took the shot because I liked it, but I also wanted to shoot from that spot with the canoe gone. I returned later to find no canoe and no good shot. What I need to learn is to better recognize a good shot when I see it. I thought the shot with the canoe would be a nice shot, but after review I think it may be the best shot of the day.

Here is another taken later from a little different location, to give an idea of what I was trying to do. I've yet to decide whether the boats in this shot help or could be cloned out.

Thanks.

My wife and I, as well as some friends we camp and travel with, have talked for years about getting a canoe. This scene rekindled that idea for me.

Great! Can't read through all these other post, but like tremendously how the light "fills" the boat softly. Congrats on this one - really worth the effort!

Hi Terry!

For a tiny, tiny fraction of a second I thought it might be NO mountain!

Very nice, though! ;)

Cheers
