1st attempt at landscape

It's a very nice scene, but that yellow cast, even if natural in the prevailing light, is just too much, IMO. Even the sky looks yellowish. I took the liberty of tweaking the color balance just a tad....

Johnny,

You can't take great pictures like this with the kit lens! Haven't you read the forum??!!

All kidding aside, it really turned out nice. I like the first one best. We get this type of sunrise / sunset all the time where I live and I LIKE it!

Let me know what you think. I tried to remove the "yellow haze".

Thanks

I'm looking at these on a "not so good" monitor at work. Your first adjusted image looks the most neutral I think -- nice. The second maybe accentuates the clouds too much. Anway, maybe I shouldn't have "picked" on the yellowness, but it just seemed to pervade the whole shot -- but, maybe that is really what it looked like.

BTW, where was this taken? It reminds me of a scene I shot on Kauai, Hawaii.

That lens is pretty nice. I don't know why it gets some bad reviews.

Colorado is beautiful. Haven't been there myself - but maybe some day soon.
Thanks
John
