D70s vs D2H when printing large

I currently shoot with a D2H and am about to start shooting Senior portraits and want to have a backup camera. I am wondering how the D70s compares in a large print, say 16x20 and larger to the D2H. I know that the D70s has 50% more pixels, but the rest of the hardware in the D2H is superior, such as the A/D converter. In the end which produces a better large print?

I too would like to know what sizes you are printing with your D70s. I have a D70 and just made a Vinyl full color print at the size of 12x18 for a metal container box. It's at the print house and haven't seen the final print, but in PhotoShop CS2 I just increased the size of the image. On screen, it doens't look like I lost any resolution or anything. I assume that the vinyl print will more and likely not look as good as printed on professional photo paper.

I've printed 8x10's with my D70 and just love it. I remember going to my local camera store and seeing a poster size print using the D70 and I was shocked to see how clear it was. I assume processing and print selection is just as important as what hardware is catching the image!

Thanks,

Frank

I own a D70 and till yesterday a D2H.

You can expect about equal performance from both.

So if your looking for a backup.....and the D70 model suits your needs and you work fine with it.....buy another D70 and put the money in glass.

If your looking for faster speed...better autofocus..pro build mirror lockup...etc....then get a nice D2H(s). (s will give better noise performance)

As for output.....expect similar performance when elnarging.....I have safely gone to 13x19 without issues from either.

I have printed 16x24 portraits from my D2H and LOVE the results. The individual hairs are a bit soft and eye browses lose detail, but we are talking portraits here, not landscape. I know the D70s is in the same league as the D2H as far as enlargement goes, I am just wondering if anyone has ever done a side by side of a large print and compared.
