Why is the F30 not available yet? I had thought it was due for release in mid May.

Release day was decided to be May 27th so it should available from beginning of June. We can expect the first users shots to hit this forum by the end of this month.

what link? are you sure they are going to implement OIS? If they do, I even can wait some months more :-)

or do you mean they need to fix some image stabilization issues?
The delay is due to the inclusion of O.I.S. It says so on the Fuji
website. Click on the DaVinci code link.

The features were finalized months ago. The camera is being manufactured now and is expected to ship to dealers this month (May) in the U.S. There will not be image stabilization other than the misnamed high shutter shpeed high ISO blur prevention that is part of the F30 design.

I actually caught the joke and was laughing.

Like a lot of other people, waiting for this camera has really been a drawn out event.

It has not been made easier by the usual speculation and such that goes with each new release.

There is always the:

Is it really better than the prior camera?
Will it trade for more NR and be worse with detail?
How is the screen?
Does it have controls? IS confusion...
Battery life?
Days of debates over studying sections of a photo found on line somewhere
Is it a real shot or production model?
Is the other brand's camera series as good by this point?
Will my battery from my older camera work with it?
Is the lens the same, is it coated?
How much, how soon, I don't like it but when can I get it? :-)
And then--

When will the upgrade be released to make it obsolete!!!!

And I participate in this as well...Gasp!

I sure hope it is a dandy of a camera...

Aww shucks...it was my pitiful attempt at humor. The link was to a pic of "The Last Supper".

If you don't "get it", don't bother.

Sorry

The fact that the F30 has not yet popped up on ebay is a good indication that its a good few weeks away from its U.S. release. I keep telling myself not to purchase an F11 because the day I do, the F30 will be available but damn you Fuji, I cannot hold out any longer.
