Not sure if this is possible but can the flash fire twice druing one shot? Sounds simple but im not sure if I can make it happen!

mmm, i managed to do it. Theres a setting called 'Rear', it flashes when the shutter opens and again just before it closes! Brill!

Rear sync tells the camera to fire the flash at the end of the exposure, but the flash that you're seeing at the start is only a metering pre-flash. The mirror is still down and the shutter is still closed at that point.

Just in case you haven't notice that yet your flash is always going off twice (first preflash is for metering purpose and it happens when shutter is still close) unless you set the output manually or preflash manually before shot the it will fire only once.
The setting you found works just like thomas said.
You can read about it in manual.
