Bright sun - but still very cold today - tried out Tokina 28-70 ATX-Pro, seems a nice lens and an improvement over the non-Pro version.

Shot RAW, converted with Silkypix

Lots of detail and the colors are strong. Looks like a keeper. Did
you have to sharpen?
PP was done via Silkypix settings (inc some sharpening) with a quick run of the 'clarify' tool in PSP

The ATX-Pro is a bit dismal at f/2.8 - but stop it down a touch and it gets pretty sharp.

That was about f/5.6, I think, and of course, the usual downsizing for the web did it no favours at all - viewed as a Tiff it's quite a pleasing shot.

Thanks for your comment, btw.

"cool" shot, congrats on purchase
Thanks Jan - I've had the lens for some time, but haven't had the opportunity to use it.

Now, on a more spiritual note - I took this image today, it's last years leaf, still hanging on in defiance of wind and rain, and the gathering of new buds - so, is it:

[A] An inspiring example of tenacity - grimly defying all the forces of nature arraigned against it, and bravely fighting onwards although it knows the fight is ultimately hopeless?

or is it

An example of wrinkled selfishness, stubbornly unwilling to relinquish its time in the sun in order to make way for new life?

Deeeeeeep questions...........
