The IS and VR lens are high quality and sharp. If you compared the kit KM
lens it would never match those lens sharpness even on a tripod. Did
they use a comparable sharp KM lens? Or compare a $1000 lens with a
$200 lens.

Not quite right. There're so called budget lenses with IS. Famous
28-135 for instance. It's pretty much in the same league as KM's
kit lens.

And who told that KM's kit lens is not sharp?

Alex these are very nice photos indeed...beautiful compositions! Are you using the 7D or 5D kit lens? Is one better than the other in your opinion? Just wondered because I'm thinking of buying the 5D and may use the kit lens for a while and add some telephoto len(s) to it.

Alex, I have to say your image galleries are some of the nicest I've seen in any forum. I am particularly interested in how you get such good results out of the KM's kit lens (is it the 18-70mm?). Anyway, I just purchased the 5D and would love to be able to replicate your remarkable results. How does the kit lens perform for you indoors? Any suggestions to get the most out of this lens would be extremely appreciated. I love your photos..hands down gorgeous. Most thankfully, Cathy
