Banding? Fine with me.

Notice people who discussed banding did just that - discussed banding. They never attacked any other people here.

You and your gang attack people all the time. I would use the words to describe it but I don't want to be really rude.

Believe me you're supported by a large number of people but equally large number does not consider you to be anything but those words I don't want to use.

You're simply not too smart. Phil suggested in his review to read this forum in order to obtain information about banding. I don't think you can actually understand what that meant.

Another characteristic of the banding mob - creativity! Touche!

Say, Adam, I was wondering - how much of your employer's time do you spend on Dpreview? Conagra must have a very liberal policy about such things.

...and I am weary of the fight.
what fight?
The emotional, illogical attacks that are commonplace on this forum
(not restricted to this forum, of course).
I see. I'm not sure. I saw fights in forums, but "normal" would be the fight between people who think (as an example) that banding is everywhere and refund is granted and the people who think banding is simple QC problem in tiny minority of cameras. That would be something normal.

Here it surprisingly became the fight when some people decided we should not be talking about banding. This is simply next step in ridiculousness and something I don't recall observing before.

just swing on over to your place, since i'll be in minnesota this
weekend anyway. we can further discuss things in person.
Touched a nerve, did I? Very interesting.

Feel free to come over - I'm in the book, very easy to find. But only if you'd like to try to kick my a$$ - I'm not interested in talking to you.

it appears as though you feel compelled to respond to a comment even when it was not directed to you.

And, yes, I just did the same.

I must need to work on my reading skills.

You remind me of my youngest daughter when she was about 4. (yes, behaviorally you are very similar to a 4 year old in your actions)

She used to love to taunt her older sister....pull her hair, kick, take her stuff while she was playing with it. You could tell the young one was intent on provoking her big sister.

Her older sister was patient....to a point. When she finally had all she could stand, she would go after her younger sister who would run crying and screaming to my or her mother's arms as if she were the one who had been harmed.

That's your MO here. You are a provocateur. You are intentionally confontational. You have assigned yourself as the forum's anal aperture. You poke, and prod until someone decides they would like to come see you. Mission accomplished. Then you accuse this person, to others, of wanting to fight (hurt you).

You are metaphorically running to mommy. How dare they even suggest the possibility of visiting you.

But really Adam, my guess is that Greg was just attempting to cut through all of the BS and get to the heart of the matter by offering to come see you. After all, how many times have you posted that cutting through the BS is your style of dealing with people.

Thanks for a very rational post on banding which, in my mind, made a lot sense. Hopefully it will help bridge understanding between those that think all D200s have Type I banding to some degree and those that don't see it, or care about, because it so minimal in most cameras.

For those with more obvious forms of banding and find it unsatisfactory, they should either return their cameras, if they can, or get them fixed by Nikon. I was a proponent of waiting a month or two ago to send their cameras in for servicing, but it seems to me that Nikon's fix isn't going to change substantially in the future, and that for the most part, the fix is satisfactory.
