F11 Poor Picture Quality

i picked up the F11 a few weeks ago, i had heard good things about the natural light setting , but whenever i use it it goes right to iso 1600 and the picture is not us to my standards. i'm not sure how I feel about the camera yet. the pictures are very soft, gives it a natural feel, but many don't turn out. i appreciated reading this thread as it gives me some recommended settings.

lastly, i picked up camera for the aperature priorty, if I want to do a picture where the subject is in focus but the background blurry, what is the best f-stop (do i always go the most wide open - lowest number)??

I'll post pics of this weekend at carnaval here in austin if i figure out how...

k, someone told me I could post in photobucket, then put a link here. here's 3 i took this weekend with my Fuji F11. i was drinking at the time, so no clue as to the settings. i used elements to remove redeye, but thats it. thoughts?

not sure how i feel about this camera yet.

thank you. not sure how i feel about the pics (i had a canon s400 before this). i think i just need to learn when to use flash vs. increasing the iso, vs using both. we'll see; the pics from this camera definately have a look to them...

See my thread on my Boston trip (just posted) ... some of those shots could not have been taken at all by the Canon. But all my shots are post processed, so maybe you would not have liked them anyway.
