d28x power supply

Is there an external battery pack available for the Nikon d28x
flash unit?
Thanks
Quantum has cables that can be used with various flashes. Naturally, they hook up with their battery(s). I have used their cables with my personal equipment(Canon) and the equipment I use at work(Nikon). Depending on your expected work load (the amount you may be shooting), you have the choice of their 1 Plus(fairly compact, I've had one for many years), their Turbo Z or their top of the line full size Turbo.

The official manufacturer's line is that one should only use "their" line of auxiliary power packs. Take that with a grain of salt.

If you go this route, do not bause that batteries by leaving them on charge for more than what the instructions tell you. I have worked with people who plug in the charger and left it like that for over a week!

There are other units like the Quantum line, but Quantum is what I am familiar with.

Hope this helps you.

I'd take a look at the digital camera battery:

I'm considering picking one up myself. It can power two devices simultaneously (such as the SB28DX and a D1) and provides fully regulated power to both devices (ie performance will not fall off as the battery begins to die). The method of using its cables to provide the needed voltages to devices makes it flexible for future investments and the fellow who makes them is open to building custom cables if you so need.

PS The recharge rate problem that Rob mentions in the aforementioned review was apparently solved with the 'Professional' cable for the SB-28DX.
