Get rid of your EFS lens before ....

Do you have any interest in Photography?

I offered a prediction based on my reading of the facts. I think everyone here knows very well, IT WILL HAPPEN . It is ONLY a matter of WHEN !!

So why do you come back with a moronic question. Is it to join in the frenzy of some of the posters who have nothing intelligent to add ?

Stupidities and other insignificant comments abound. You should not feel compel to join in.

I didn't bother buying EFS lenses at all. I stuck by the EF knowing very well that one day EFS will no longer be manufactured due to FF.

LPG may be right but I think he is a little too early with the prediction.

the FF replacement of the 20D is announced. The writing is on the
wall. It will make the Nikon D200 pale in comparison.

All of you who did not heed my warnings and bought those EFS lens
have now less than a month to sell those small sensor lenses on
ebay.

After this only the entry level 3XXD series will sport those
beginners lenses. Their value is bound to take a hit.

This is my opinion and it is worth as much and more than most of
those that follow. (We will all have the answer before the end of
February 2006).
What arrogance! You've no idea what comments will follow.
ps: While you are at it, get also rid of your soon to be obsolete
350D \ 20D
We heard you the first time, and disagreed then.

Why don't you learn anything from people's responses?

Shame there isn't a way to kill-file all one person's posts.

I think it is clear that a majority of us have a different opinion, and are a bit less cocky in offering it.

Do you promise to come back to this thread and say "I was wrong" as boldly as you are predicting doom and gloom, should you not be correct?

The 20D replacement will be a 1.6 crop sensor not full frame. In fact there maybe a new EF-S at PMA.

Canon will keep the 1.6 sensor for a long time for people who want an inexpansive start with a dSLR.

If your prediction is correct, I will leave this forum never to return,

But if your prediction is incorrect, you will leave this forum never to return

Deal?

  • DOF is already shallow enough for me with 1.6X
why would I want FF?
i agree with your post, but one thing confuses me...

i believed that on FF, the DOF is greater at a given aperture than on a 1.6x body

the online DOF calculator supports this also...

I think the general idea is that to get the same picture with a ff and a 1.6 body you need a wider one on a 1.6. So the 50 1.8 on a FF means roughly what, 30 on a 1.6, and a 30 with a 1.8 has a wider DOF then a 50 with a 1.8.
