Mine says it shipped yesterday (ordered on the 15th)... but the tracking number provided does not pull up on fedex.com... so it's possible that it was shipped out by another means. Either way I expect to get the camera by tomorrow.

My Order Number: 671571016 says shipped out 11/8 but FedEX says they recieved it about 6pm on the 11/7 so even better! They list my serial # as being Serial Number: S011335XXXL.

On the box there is a small 'black' dot made with a sharpie on the serial number label, no blue dot though.

I did notice that the Sony seal was on the box, but when I cut it to open it there was another Sony sea underneath it that had already been cut. I am assuming this maybe when they opened the box to do the fix and re-sealed it?

Checked online when I received the email this morning and it says my order shipped yesterday. Tacking number link took me to Fedex.com and tracking shows it was picked up at 10pm last night PST, and was at the Oakland Fedex facility at 1:05pm today.

Hmmm, that's quite possible. I don't know why they did not put a blue dot on it like they said they would though. Be sure to let us know if you should come across some BFS pics. That way we can track it and be sure of what serial numbers are fixed and which are not, for the benefit of all consumers.

Dell called me last night to say my order, placed 10/16, will not ship til December 7. They have also told me repeatedly they ship orders out according to the date the order was placed.... first in, first out.

Either they are ed up beyond belief, or somebody at Dell is lying about their procedures. Either way, I'm getting more than a little annoyed. Time to start documenting this fiasco and complaining to the brass at Dell. Anybody want to join in? (Not you happy folks who have your cameras, obviously!)

2) Did you order through home store or small business store.

The above seem to be the primary factors in camera delivery.

If you don't want to wait cancel the order... yelling at Dell for not knowing what is going on when the camera appears to be in the process of being drop shipped direct from distribution seems childish.

i agree with you. It seems that some people who ordered later got theres before others. Even the people of 10/14 didnt all get theirs as there are reports of 10/17 people getting them. Again it can be part of the process - theres probably no way to tell. Ive been told many different things so far so -so ya u should be pissed too if say I get my camera before you do --10/17 . I was told mid november. I'll tell u all about it the camera so u dont feel so bad.

While this might be "true," but please don't forget that the csr people are there to help us - at least they try. if the company doesn't provide them w/ the right info, there is NOTHING they can do about it.

I got a call from Dell on 11/7 saying they would ship on 12/7. I ordered 10/16. Some people who ordered 10/17 have already had their orders filled (lucky dogs). Dell keeps saying they fill orders as they were received (first in, first out). Something stinks, and I think it's Dell.

This is just another FYI confirming a recurrent impression I have had in my dealings with Dell from the beginning. I am annoyed too, but I am confident my order will come through soon enough. No need to work up a sweat over this...

My email to my sales rep:

"...despite the "order watch confirmation" below I received from Dell, I have not been notified so far of any shipment (although 2 out of 3 items have already shipped). Is there any way for you to ensure I get an email notification when the rest of the order does ship? TIA."

(Here was the order watch confirmation from Dell, stating among other things : "We will monitor your order and send you a notification email when your order has shipped." Note that this was INCLUDED in the email I sent.)

My sales rep reply:

"You can take your order #'s and track your order one line at http://www.dell4me/orderstatus.com
We do not send out emials tell you,your order has shipped.
Thank you"

Of course, I already had a link where I could check my order status online. That is where I learnt things HAD shipped in the first place. For the record, when I click on the link provided by my sales rep, I get "Server http://www.dell4me is unknown!"

Like, don't you find that funny, like, in a funny way, like...???

I wondered about this too, as I ordered by phone on 10/17,
recieved two other items, without notification, but of course
am still waiting for the 707.

Why do some get a phone call or not, or an e-mail or not?
