Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, Have a great Kwanzaa, and hope everyone enjoyed their Winter Solstice.

Anyway, there were two special little pckages under the tree for my DS this year. A 500FTZ and a Zenitar. W00t!

Well, following the "don't talk about it unless you have pictures to show" rule, here it goes.

BTW, the puppy didn't have my name on it this year. :-( My parents got her as each other's Christmas present a couple of weeks ago and she has been trying to chew through power cords and exposed flesh since.

Oh yeah, and here are more puppy pictures:

All were taken with either the Zenitar 16mm 2.8 or the Tamron 24-125 at ISO 200 in RAW with the new flash and processed though Adobe Camera Raw. I just went with the auto settings because I'm on a computer with no mouse and a cheap laptop lcd screen.

From the Zenitar. Of course, they would look much nicer if my manual focusing skills are not as developed as the puppy's wiggling skills. That's pretty said since I've been focusing for 10 years and she's only been wiggling for 12 weeks. :-)

From the Tamron 24-135

Congratulations on flash lens and puppy. gotta love a ove schnauzers.

I have to know though, how did you turn a schnauzer into a poodle in the last photo?

Cute Puppies and nice pictures!

How do you find the 500FTZ to use? I've been considering upgrading from my old Sigma 430ST flash for a while because;
  • It's sooooo slow recharging between shots.
  • No Swivel Feature, I find i shoot in portrait mode quite a bit but still want to be able to bounce off the roof.
  • I want to Pentax unit but can't justify buying the new wireless enabled models when i dont have a body supporting wireless flash.
Thanks in advance!
Marc

Hi TiJean!

Congratulations on joining the Z-club! Don't you just love that lens?

And on the new flash as well. Very cute puppy pictures. I like the Zenitar pictures. Looks like the puppy was coming to get the lens. My favorite of the bunch is #3 of the Tamron pictures. He/she is winking at you!

Glad you had a wonderful Christmas!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I really would like to help, but it is possible that I'm a worse person to answer this question than someone who does not own it, as I've used a flash a grand total of maybe 50 times in my 10 year of Pentaxing - and all of those were just blind snapping with a big, ,cheap Vivitar and the K-1000. Sorry. :-)

Congratulations on the len's and flash. Santa was good to you.
The schnauzer puppy is about the age mine was last year. Puppies are great.
I also see an older schnauzer ? and a poodle ? Is the puppy a schnoodle ?? :)

I got one of these for £50 and it's great for the DS, although it tends to overexpose at high ISos unless you use some compensation.

Haha, no snoodles for us. This is the little troop of girls. They're all my parents. The older miniture schnauzer's 2 and a half now, the poodle's 1 and a half, and the newest addition is another little mini schnauzer that just hit 12 weeks. They're my parents' new babies, and they have the Christmas card picture to prove it. :-) They're also most of the reason my mom bought her 300D.
