D200 - where to get one?

Like many of the other people, I bet on the wrong horse and placed a (pre) order for D200 with Adorama instead of Ritz…

I know I can get one from Cameta and couple of other NY dealers for over $2000, but even though I am anxious to get one, I am not ready to overpay $300-400 for it

I think it would be beneficial for everyone if anyone who found any place to buy D200 (small local stores etc.), would share their success with the rest of us.

A few minutes later I recieved an email with this information:

"We regret to inform you that due to a system error the ordered merchandise is not in stock."

I guess this means their stock of D200's ran out already

I had a script that was watching the D200 page at B&H.

It was available from about 4:10 until 5:35 PM (EST).

Well there is a winner...

You have to go to NIKONUSA page and look for dealers in your area. YEsterday I call like 30 stores and at least in 7 of them they have a Nikon D200. I can't buy one because the didn't sell by phone or internet. I tried to convince them but it was impossible. In one Tall Camera in Seattle in a mall they have 2. But they are for walk in's... I live in the caribbean and Seattle for me is the other part of the world.

Also in Portland I found a couple of places where they have in stock. There are hundreds of places in the States that have cameras in stock. They are little and family stores... They have one or two...

We all bet for the big stores and look what happened. We loose. Well, today i finally bought from B&H but if you are really interested go to the dealers in your area or other dealers that can do the service and buy one. Forget Adorama, B&H, Ritz... look fo the small business and you'll have one very soon.

yea I went to my LOCAL dealer here is Staten Island NY, and he had 2 of them, one already had a deposit on it, and the other he wanted $2,000 for it, I told him, thanks but no thanks.
