Hi now that nikon has a VR in a macro lens, somehow this tells me that nikon seems like being more advance than Canon already, which i had to believe, can someone convinced me that nikon is not over taking world's no. One Spot off from Canon !

I love my can still.

...
if only it were so. It is not. Nikon has no such lens.

Even if they did, it would be such a low volume speciallty item it would not materially affect either company's sales or standing.

plus it would be useless unless it compensated for movement
backwards and forwards, as has been extensively discussed before....

I have the best macro IS system, a 350D,a tripod, and the self
timer function!!!

A remote would be better than self-timer :-)

I don't think Nikon makes a true macro lens with IR. Just because a lens says "macro" on the barrel, doesn't mean it's a true 1:1 macro lens.

For example, my 17-85IS says Macro on the barrel I believe, and it is far, far from a true macro lens.

My 70-200IS with a closeup filter on the other hand, is very useful for closeups.
