D70 bigger viewfinder!! (DK-17M)

Advertising it an accessory for the D70 too will definitely increase sales considerably, don't u think so? This is what makes me think it will not fit the D70. Or may be I'm wrong and it is somehing which the Nikon marketing team has missed!
 
You guys are pitching the excitement too high for me! D70's viewfinder has been one of my major complaints about this wonderful camera. Coming from a (film) Nikon F90X, it took me some time to get acquainted with the tunnel view of the D70.

Now if I can really hack that viewfinder to match that of a D2X or D200, I'm on the starting line! So thanks for all the tips!

Might be the best things I'll spend money on for this Xmas!

PS: Are both components available from a single store?
 
Or... maybe it fits the D70 (phisically) but it's not compatible with something, maybe something in the way magnification is done... or something else.

I mean... I'm sure some peole here can tell if there is a diiference between D100 and D70 viewfinder. If there is a difference, then maybe there is some incompatibility.
 
you can also use a adapter. like this one (dk-7 or something like that?)

or use the dg-2 for 2X magnification.
 
May I boldy answer your Q:

yes. I tried Ace camera 703-430-3333, both in stock. about $10 more than if you get them from B&H, but it's the only one that has both. even nikonmall run out of D17M. The funniest thing is the moment I mentioned both, Mo recognized I probably want them for the D70!

Thank David and Mofongo for the tips. Couldn't wait to trying it. This $60 could easily save me $1600 (at least I am not in such an urge to get the D200 now!)
 
With the added distance, will you still get 100% of the viewfinder?

The should be available from adorama or B & H. They are both Nikon products. Make a few calls. If your stcuk re post and we wwill do some searching around.
 
Lousiest pics I have ever Taken..rushing a bit this morning. the whole thing will protrude approx 1/2 inch from the body of your camera. Its really no problem. I can't do a pic of it on my camera. If you really need one I will borrow my neighbours little P & S.

Just a side note..be careful or at least check very carefuly before ordering any combintion other than the 2370 + Dk-17m. Not saying others aren't out there..but just check with Nikon first.
