I asked Feisol about this and they emailed me back saying they'd "soon" be releasing a new, taller carbon-fiber tripod with the following specs:

"Fully extended height without raising the center column: 150 cm
Maximum leg tube diameter: 37 mm
Interchangeable leg spikes as a purchase option
Also we will be releasing a new level base for the tall tripod.

The basic model should be priced at USD299, but carbon fiber center column, spikes, or other accessories are sold separately. The maximum height without center column is about 150 cm. Other specifications are to be confirmed after our tests are done."

Being on the tall side and on the lookout for an affordable yet tall-enough and sturdy CF tripod, I think I'll be waiting for this tripod and endure my cheap aluminum one for now. Hopefully it's out by Christmas! (Although they do say they have been having some manufacturing delays.)

Just thought I'd share in case this might influence anyone else's tripod search too. Happy thanksgiving everyone!

Not going to help much if it is heavy or has a packed length that is too long. Worth keeping an eye on for sure though - thanks.

Good points - the 37mm tubing sounds like a substantial bump-up over the 28mm tubing used in their existing tripod line-up, so weight and packed-size are issues to factor into any purchase decisions. Feisol's existing tripods have proven to be great products, especially with the recent center-column upgrades, so it will be interesting to see reviews for this upcoming item.
