How do the screens compare any one using both .Viewed a 20 inch in the Apple store and screen was very close to the printed image very close.Couldnt judge the Powerbook 17in.Wasnt conected to a printer.

While my calibrated 23" matches the WHCC prints very very close, the powerbook screen is just terible in rendering the correct colors. The colors are washed out and too blue, even correctly calibrated. I do adjust the contrast ( System preferences -> Universal Access -> Enhance contrast ) so that the slider sites above the right leg of the letter m in Normal, but this just gives you an idea how the prints will be. I definately would not rely on the pb screen. My 2 cents ... André

PS: I do have a 5,6 series 15" pb. Dont know if the new ones are better.

My cinema display color is excellent - the color from the powerbook is good but it's easy to tell it's not as good. That said, I wouldn't write the powerbook off entirely - if portable is something you really need, you can learn to live with the screen. After all, it's still nice.

The newest PowerBooks (announced just recently) seem to have a better, new type of display (wider viewing angle with less color shift, as stated).

Anybody seen one?
