This Saturday is Sears special sale day, giving 10 to 50% off most items. If they give 10% off their regular $999 price of the F707 and an additional 10% for first time Sears credit, then many people should be able to get it for about $800. Is this possible? My only problem is that my Sears claims they don't carry the 707. Can I special order it and still get these discounts? Anyone know how?
Thanks--Kevin

Remember that they also have 12 months no interest using the Sears credit card.

Just go to the store or call up and tell them you want to order
Division 3 item 53017 and they will order it at the current sale price.

That is what I originally did when they had the 10% off sale last month, then I got the dell $799 price match last week.
Good luck!

The sallesman in my store told me they didn't carry it until the day it showed up. A little persistence convinced them to look it up on the computer, and voila, in stock. Don't give up yet.

And, do no forget the 2 year camera exchange warranty.

When I bought my S75, the booklet said 12 month after manufactor's warranty. But when I ordered my F707 on 10/17 with expected delivery date of 10/24(i actually received on 19th), the new booklet didn't say coverage length. Since my salesperson told me it's 2 years plan, I had him write down the expiration date(10/24/2003), signed it, and also his employee number. Don't know how useful that is, but at least I can go to Sears to argue if needed.

So ask him for the PPP booklet and read it yourself first.

The manager signed my PPP and dated for 2 years, he also added his employee number. If you have the booklet, receipt and an employee signature, Sears WILL honor it. Look how good they have been to most of us so far.

My parents bought a lawnmower from them and had it for a year. They did not have a warranty when it broke. I took it back for them and got a brand new one. The guy remarked that my parents have been cardholders from the first time Sears offered their credit card.

I know that lawn mowers don't compare to camera's, my point is that if you have it in writing, Sears will take care of you (most of the time). Remember, if one doesn't work go to another one. That is the beauty of retail stores!

Thanks for all the help. I'll let you know how it works out.

I went to Sears yesterday, they didn't have it on sale but said they will price match internet prices. All I needed was a print out showing Company name, site address and the DSC-F707 price. I ordered one for $859.95. Using their credit card, got 12 months interest free.
