I can't stand it anymore!!!

Hi E1derful, Nikon,Nikon, Please, CANON ha ha.

Working great, still kept 1 of the E1's but honestly did need the canon, different tool for a different job, thats all.

What the lady in London from Olympus told me still stands up though, new body to be released (E500) but nothing as professional as the new E yet, and this was before any of the rumors of the E500 release on here.

Still hoping for a early release of a new E body though but it's not as imperative now.

Thanks,

Lisa.

I wish Olympus would unleash their E1 replacement.

The suspense is killing me!

The next 4 months are going to be rough!
To be honest I wish people would stop going on and on about it. These USELESS messages are pushing messages where people are asking for help off the first page.

The camera will come when it comes...wait and see what happens at PMA.

Off one soapbox and onto another, I admit I was dismayed when Olympus didn't release a new pro "E" by now...should have been during the summer. I understand they released the E-500 now to get the Christmas market. Well, hopefully though with the announcement of new CCDs that the next "E" will be even better than it would have been if it had been released already! ;-)

You know, the 7D was something that WOULD have made me jump ship if it had been a real 7D. The thing was speced identical to their old Maxxum 5. The 7 was leagues ahead... and the 9 even farther.
You have three decent DSLRs on the market and have had a nice DSLR
for several years. As a former Minolkta user who jumped ship (to
Canon) when KM released an overpriced, WAY-late, 6mp camera in a
8mp world, I can tell you from experience there's NOTHING more
painful than waiting on a product, especially when there is no
option but to jump ship - or wait like a good loyal user to be
greeted with greedy prices and substandard features.

Buy an E-500 and be happy. :)

No rumors? People have been talking about how the next E-1 (or E-3) would be out at every photo show for over a year. Hell, REPS were telling people to expect it.

It didn't happen... so we are still waiting.

Hopefully, it will be worth the wait (honestly, seeing the E-500 is making me think it WILL be, hope it gets some of the little Gee-Whiz items from it).

Waiting... been killing me for months... think the wife is happy though...
3. To me it seems an unbelievably bad marketing decision by
Olympus to have failed to release an upgraded "E-1n" during 2005.
They have completely failed to pursuade me that it would have been
too difficult to put an 8.0 MP sensor in the E-1 and fix a handful
of things from the original. If rumors of such a model had
surfaced at the end of 2004 and if it had come out this summer, I
suspect that there would be very few people ditching Oly for
"greener pastures."

hmm..... my guess is E-xx before feb 06, same sensor in $$$$ body = E-x

and we have not heard any rumours from Panasonic yet, so fasten the seat belts ;-)

Well, FWIW, the Maxxum 5 was newer than the Maxxum 7. I had both cameras and found them both very good, but the 7 was my favorite.
