Hi,

I have been trying to decide on a digital camera now for some time. I think I have finally decided on the G2, so I went to the local store and took a couple of pictures and had them email them to me. The first one came out wonderfully (img_424) while the second shot doesn't seem in focus (img_425). Both were shot at F2.5 and 1/60 in P mode with the only manual setting being the ISO set at 50. Did I do something wrong, or is this something that I should expect with this camera?

Thanks

I have used G2 for a couple of week. So far most of the picture taken were sharp exact one or two out of focus because of my fault. In your case, I think that you may have press the shutter to fast without time for the camera to focus. It should improve if you practice with the camera more.

Jeff,

I have an occasional focus or blur problem with my G2, but not much more than I have with my EOS 3. I'm very very happy with my G2. Take a look at some of the posted galleries on this site, especially by Anders and Vitali to see the potential of this camera. Also, while not up to the best of what I've seen from others, my own gallery has quite a few samples of my own two weeks experience with the G2.

I highly recommend this camera.

Jeff, i have had my G2 for 3 weeks now. As an experienced photographer I can tell you that it is a asuperb camera capable of great photos. I have printed some georgeous 10x12 photos on my 1270 that look like they were taken with my MF cameras! Buy one, learn how to use it and enjoy.

Jeff,

It looks like the lighting in the photo of the sales counter is weak. Fortunately, the g2 uses E-TTL and appears to be compatible with the EX series of flashes from Canon which should fix what, IMHO, is a lighting problem.

I own the s100 and do not have the hot shoe option. So I have become familiar with poor lighting at a distance when trying to use the built-in flash.

Mr. Askey has given it an overall rating pretty close to 9 out of 10. The other posters to your thread have experience with the unit and most appear to find it a joy to use.

GO FOR IT!!!
