I don't like kit so much becouse of the pastic amount.

What do you think I should take. I need one in range of 18-70 and one zoom like 70-300,etc..

Thanks!

Unless special market conditions exist where you are buying you would be well advised to purchase the 5D with the kit lens - you can always sell it again if you want to - or sell the whole outfit including the lens if you ever upgrade to another model - it is much easier to sell a body + lens rather than sell a body only.

If you want another lens then think of the whole range of focal lengths which you wish to cover.

If you can get one I would advise getting a secondhand 50mm F1.7 as it's wide aperture will always be useful in low light & it makes a good portrait lens.

I would have liked to have a high quality 18-70 with a low aperture, but settled for the very nice KM 28-78 2.8 D lens. Fortuantely, I have the kit lens, so I can go wider when needed.

I didnt care for the 70-300 options, so I went with the highly recommended old 70-210 f/4 Macro lens. I can't recommend 2 lenses to cover that full range you listed that would suit my taste for sharpness.

I agree about the 50 1.7, you can get one pretty cheap. If you don't mind spending more dough, you can get the 50 1.4 or 50 2.8 Macro. I went with the 2.8 myself.

My approach is a bit different. I just dont want to carry a big outfit, just the camera with 1 lens, that's it. So I ended up buying following with my 5D:

Tamron 18-200, very good and reasonable quality for holidays, sunny days outdoor with no specific goal in mind.

Sigma 24-70 EX F2.8; Yes, this is a bit big and heavy compared to the Tamron, but the quality is outstanding. I use this lens for indoor/low light shooting, portraits, a day in the City etc. etc. Turns out, the Quality of the pictures is so good I use it more and more. 24mm is still ok for wider angles and this lens is just sharp, fast, great depth of field control... Recommended.
