a telecon, lens hood, DPS-9000 battery pack, iPod Photo, a few short cables, 3-4 filters (macro/polar).

Do you think the Lowepro Off Road will fit these comfortabily even with the hood attached to the FZ30?

I like the fexible design - removable len pouches and can be worn using a waist belt or shoulder strap.

If this will fit all that 'junk', does anyone know the best price online?

Thanks in advance.

have you looked at the Nova AW series? The are ruggid and have adjustable internal compartments, all weather cover (V useful!), belt or shoulder, may take extra pouches.. I've got the mini for my FZ5 and a camcorder, cards, batteries and filtera. Without the camcorder I could fit a tele in but you'd want the size up or 2 I'd guess.

Yes, I did check it out.

The only worry I have is that the Nova's were primarily designed to be a shoulder bag first and although it has a sleeve for an optional belt strap, it does not seem to be as stable as a fixed waist belt (much less deflection, sliding and slipping).
My primary use is a waist bag.

When I add a tripod to the Off Road (there are bottom straps for a tripod), I think I'll have to use the shoulder strap for the extra weight.
Curious, do you use yours as a waist bag or shoulder bag?

That's true, I only use it as a shoulder bag. I wouldn't want to load the bag up and use the belt loops for a long time.

I love my Tamrac backpack with a top compartment for jacket lunch etc. I carry my FZ20 with wide angle, flash, filters, has a chest strap to keep it from bouncing, lots of extra pouches and pockets, straps on the back for my small tripod.

Do a google for Tenba bags. I have a Tenba P-209, which can be worn as a beltpack or with a shoulder strap. It is very well made, very well padded and has a sturdy wooden bottom. It can hold my FZ20, a couple of lenses, a flash unit and all the cables, charger and misc. items. The belt is 2 inches wide and tucks into a place in the back when you don't want to use it.
