Red Crayon. Reds are awful!

i'm glad we aren't taking ourselves too seriously...after all, it's just a camera. looks like a great camera though...can't wait to get my hands on one. it should do pretty well when i take my family to australia in december...

This is precisely why you should never by a Sony product. If you got these kinds of results from another camera, you would have the joy of enduring multiple fix-one, break-one firmware upgrades until everybody has lost interest. With your 707, you'll be stuck with that red problem forever.

Hi Brian,

Well I do like it, I'm in flames of the result.

Waiting for the first sample of F707 arives.

As you have to know I can shoot every shot at muted colors.

I took the following picture of a red crayon w/ a 707. Notice the
bleeding and extreme oversaturation?

Sony needs to address this!

My megamacro shots with my s85 look just like that. Must be a
proprietary thing.
I'm not at all happy with my new 707. Seems I have a "dead" pixel
in addition to the saturation problem. Argghh!

Maaaaan !!! Look what you have done !!!
Now all guys from Nikon, Cannon and other teams have real 707 shots!!!
Can you image what they are gonna talk about within next few hours?

This one with dead pixel is killing me... I can live witout red color and it is perfectly fine, cause it is not my favorit, but dead pixel...oh..my!

It is too smal !!! How could you blame Sony for such a little pixel? We spent only 1000$ on that, don't forget it!

Well, dead pixels are no fun. But some cameras have a lot MORE.

Now let's do some math, just for fun:

Camera is about $1000.
Figure CCD is about 20% of camera, or about $200.
$200/5,000,000 is about 0.004 cents.

So you COULD say that if you had 250 dead pixels,
mean old Sony should refund you a penny. ;-)

But I know, I know... we would all HATE to have
250 dead pixels, no matter what they were worth!

I think it's just a result of in-camera processing. If the 707 had RAW mode, this kind of thing would never happen.
