Pushed off public property

this real republican agrees with those you call democrats

the neocons apparently including you are not republicans

the neocons are fascists that have taken over the gop
like cancer invades a healthy person

they are using our govt to make money for bushwas oil buddies
and his cronies companies like haliburton

there were no wmd
i stated so before the illegal war like activities started
(only congress can declare war and they should impeach bush
for what he is doing)

saddam was not a threat to us
it was up to his country to remove him not the usa
removing him has not helped any usa citizen
and has given more momentum to terrorism
by helping them recruit

bush is repeating johnsons guns and butter fiasco
and will have hyperinflation going by the time he leave office

the neocons will make jimmy carers stagflation look wonderful
if they continue on their track we will have a major worldwide depression
as well as hyperinflation
You said it, not me.

Sorry I don't think like you critter. Really bums me out you're not
my pal now.
Is that one of the kids of National Guard who died? The child will grow up proud that his father died for Iraqi Freedom. And I for one appreciate YOUR sacrifice for the Iraqi people. We Americans have pitched in and sacrificed! The unbearable burden of shopping, mall walking, and if you're in the right tax bracket, counting your money.

Not only that, but in this brutal war that Al Qaeda launched against us, this invasion to attack their central headquarters was a Godsend.

But I have one objection to your post. Reading the speeches that Bush gave BEFORE the war I can find no mention of Iraqi Freedom. Those words and aspirations came AFTER the war started.

So essentially your point is that Sadaam Huesein was a very evil man and deserves to die. I agree. Somehow, I am under the impression that actually going to war and expending the lives of YOUR young men and woman is a sacred trust. "Sacred Trust" is of course one of those "bleeding heart" expressions that means that you have no right to make others carry out your ideas. No, I like that old fashioned belief that you can only ask your young men and woman to die in defense of their country. I know, I know, "get with the program."

There are MANY evil men in this world - You and I have a hard task ahead of us. A lot of invasions to come! And truth to be told, I suspect that the American People wouldn't have backed this invasion if they were told in advance that the REAL REASON was to fight for the liberation of people who really just don't seem to apprciate the sacrifice.

I suspect that going into a country gun in hand and demanding that they vote Republican or else is not the real way you spread Freedom and Democracy. But what the heck, maybe I'm old fashioned. Maybe I'm an American.

And somewhere, who knows? Maybe we can find that guy, err, you know that guy, "What's his name?" who actually attacked us. I think that would be nice. Still I haven't heard much about what he's doing. "Dead or Alive?" But then again that wanted poster is getting moldy...

And of course, I could go on the net and post pictures of OTHER babies....

But those babies are not dead - they are "collateral damage."

Dave

mrmagoo1962, what you either don't know or what you ignore, is the fact that most of Saddam's crimes against humanity were committed prior to the Gulf War, when he was an ally of the USA.

Where were all the calls for his ouster then?

Below is what George Bush himself believes about nation Building. These are quotes from the Presdential Debates against Gore. ...
*************************************************************************

But we can't be all things to all people in the world, Jim. And I think that's where maybe the vice president and I begin to have some differences. I'm worried about overcommitting our military around the world. I want to be judicious in its use. You mentioned Haiti. I wouldn't have sent troops to Haiti. I didn't think it was a mission worthwhile. It was a nation building mission, and it was not very successful. It cost us billions, a couple billions of dollars, and I'm not so sure democracy is any better off in Haiti than it was before.

I don't think so. I think what we need to do is convince people who live in the lands they live in to build the nations. Maybe I'm missing something here. I mean, we're going to have kind of a nation building core from America? Absolutely not. Our military is meant to fight and win war. That's what it's meant to do. And when it gets overextended, morale drops. I strongly believe we need to have a military presence in the peninsula, not only to keep the peace in the peninsula, but to keep regional stability. And I strongly believe we need to keep a presence in NATO, but I'm going to be judicious as to how to use the military. It needs to be in our vital interest, the mission needs to be clear, and the extra strategy obvious.

http://www.vote-smart.org/speech_detail.php?speech_id=1864&keyword=&phrase=nation+building&contain=

I would take the use of force very seriously. I would be guarded in my approach. I don't think we can be all things to all people in the world. I think we've got to be very careful when we commit our troops. The vice president and I have a disagreement about the use of troops. He believes in nation building. I would be very careful about using our troops as nation builders. I believe the role of the military is to fight and win war and therefore prevent war from happening in the first place.

I was honored to be flanked by Colin Powell and Norman Schwartzkopf recently. If we don't have a clear vision of the military, if we don't stop extending our troops all around the world and nation building missions, then we're going to have a serious problem coming down the road, and I'm going to prevent that. I'm going to rebuild our military power. It's one of the major priorities of my administration.

Lack of vision is a very difficult limitation to overcome.

Who attacked us and why have we made no honest effort to catch him?

Or is he just so tricky and slippery that America is unable to achieve that goal?

Take about taking the fight to the terrorist all you want..the actions say otherwise.

Iraq is now a terrorist training ground, whareas before the War for Oil it had practically nothing to do with terrorism. Just a 2 bit old despot with wet dreams of power and glory.

The Neocon agenda is one of power and profit. Nothing more. Looks like either folks like you WAKE UP, or America will continue to fade into second class status - loss of freedom, poverty, hatred, false values, suppression of thought - before she'll get a chance to move forward in a positive direction again.

So, take it easy, don't worry about the rot all around you. Come have some coffee and BBQ with me and cheemee.
Chemee,

Our country was attacked on 9/11 and thousands of innocent
civilians were killed by terrorists. Too many in these forums hate
Bush because they just can't fathom that we should be pro-active
about fighting terrorism, rather than waiting for them to hit us
again and then react. Interesting that they get their panties in a
wad about a picture of Saddam in his underwear, and forget why our
brave men and women are fighting for them to excersise their 1st
amendment rights. Some will just never get it.

No weapons of mass destruction?

The House of representatives voted 420 to 1 to invade Afghanistan.
And I ask you, who was that one vote? Actually I don't know, but
I'll bet good money is was one of those stinking Democrats!

And the Senate? They voted 98 to 0 to invade Afghanistan! And who
was that 0? You guessed it - A democrat!

And when President Bush implied that Iraq had something to do with
9/11 who said it wasn't true? Well actually, quite a few people
said it wasn't true - but let's pass on that.

If Sadaam Huesein was responsible fgor 9/11 why by gosh I say TAKE
HIM OUT! Of course, he had nothing to do with it and everyone knew
that - but what's the difference?

Is he a nice guy? Absoultely NOT. Is taking him out for the hell of
it worth the lives of 1800 Americans and 13,000 wounded? (and
counting) Sure it is - Just ask President Bush! Didn't his
daughters volunteer to serve, just like Roosevelts kids in WW II?

Well maybe not - but they would have if they could just find a
recruiter!

You tell him!

Oh, and meanwhile, let's stop and say a prayer for our dear ally,
the poor King of Saudi Arabia. Bush Senior and Vice-Presidnet
Cheney just arrived in Riyadh to give the departed their sympathy.

Now those low-lifes in the State Deparment claim that 80 percent of
the money going to the insurgents in Iraq is coming from Saudi
Arabia. Those same Communists in the State Department tell us that
Saudi money finances all those Madrasses in Pakistan that teach
that blowing yourself up in a good and holy cause will get you
right into heaven.

Don't let those liberals in the government fool you. Saudi Arabia
is the most Democratic Monarchy in the world that still believes in
the devine right of Kings to do anything they please!

So let me end this post with a fervent, "God Save the King" in the
name of freddom and democracy of course....

Dave

My first post. I though I would share with you my experience today
while shooting pictures at the post office in Saint Petersburg
Florida. Our post office has the PO Boxes outside. A new concept
first introduced in 1907.
A PO is not public property, its a private building open to the public for several hours a day, which basically means that if they dont like your face they have every right to turf you out!

If however you could get your shots without crossing onto their property, say by using a long lens from a convenient viewpoint then there is nothing they can do.

the street is public property
you can legally shoot anything you can see from a public place
including the usps

the constitution guarantees the right to do this
and the courts have so ruled
The same rules apply here in the UK but we now to comply with the subjects right to privacy, ie if they are in a place where they reasonably expect to have privacy, such as inside their home or in their back garden you cannot take their photos without first gaining their permission, even if you are in a public place at the time. If they are outside their front door in their front garden though they are fair game.....This new rule was brought in to curtail the sleazy activities of the paparazzi who would have no quarms about shooting through windows that did not have the curtains drawn at night into the homes of celebs hoping to snap them walking around in the nude say, and then sellling their pics to the highest bidders.

Yesterday, our death toll in Iraq reached 1800. This is because of
a war launched to prevent Sadaam Huesein attacking us and his
neighbors with nuclear and biological weapons.
Actually Dave, the real figure is much more. The death toll only includes those killed in Iraq. The wounded who later succumb to their injuries in military hospitals in Europe and elsewhere are not counted. According to one source it could be as high as 9,000.

I was on the sidewalk. Here is a picture of the postoffice I found online. I wish I had a better one. If you look closely you see a small figure standing infront of the PO Boxes just past the archs. I was standing on the sidewalk and just slightly zooming in on the boxes. Around to the back of the building the boxes are within touching distance from the side walk.

Hi there,

To be really efficient, I would try to talk once more to the person in the post office, or at least his boss first... otherwise you might be sending out people to the same frustrating experience you went through, and the guy will probably still not understand...

Bernard
A triple BuYaaaaa……. to the anonymous reader who forwarded me the
following web site. The site states its all about keeping
photographers out of trouble, and supporting them when trouble
looms.
http://www.PhotoPermit.Org

I feel vindicated after reading the story on page 1 called, “More
Fun On The Streets Of SF.” After being harassed for photographing a
building from a public sidewalk in San Francisco, the photographer
has engaged the public in a photo contest. Photos of the same
building he was told not to shoot.

Since the local newspapers have neglected to take interest on my
story here in St Pete, I plan to up the stakes. The winner of the
best amateur photo taken of the Saint Petersburg Post Office will
receive $100.00. The photo will be matted and donated to the local
children’s hospital for auction at their next charity fund raiser.

Photos will me mailed to my PO Box located at the Saint Petersburg
Post Office.

I feel much better now!

I dont know what camera you have but if you have a DSLR why not simply use a telephoto lens of 300mm or more to get your shots from the other side of the street?....Then you can happily snap away whilst giving him the finger!
