It would be only a guess based on the values of the A* 300 f4 on ebay. The last A* 300 went for US$625.00 I think, so an M* would be possibly US$100 less or US$525.00 but this is only a guess! If it is on ebay, then we do not know what madness will prevail when the time comes!Any idea on the value of a 9/10 M*?
No problems. The A* 300 is a superb 300 and the M* 300 would be similar. Thanks for the pics Lance.
Personnaly, I would stick with the Pentax TC as it is designed for the Pentax lenses at around this focal length. If I had a Sigma lens, then I would possibly use a Sigma TC and the same goes for Tamron. This is just my opinion. It certainly sounds like a great lens. What opinions of using a
teleconverter to it? And if so what one?

About right according to ebay. This is an AF lensBTW on the topic of 300mm lenses, I saw a dealer in the city here
has two 300mm second hand pentax lenses in stock...
- 300mm f4.5 ED for $1,100
Cheaper than ebay if it is an A*300. This is a MF lens
- Manual 300mm f4 for $699
There is the M* 300 and the A* 300 in manual focus. Is there only the M* in 300mm f4 manuals, or could this be a
difference lens?
Wow! I think I need to sit down. That really makes my Pentax 16mm f2.8 cheap at Euro350 or approxAU$600!!Ohh and lance I was wrong on the price of the 16mm Pentax, I
thought it was around $1000 it is actually $1650, I think it may
sit there for a while LOL

I thought so, but I'd better ask!Yeah lance is right, I got it confused with the 28mm Shift lens,
they are both 3.5, K series, look kind of similar, and the filter
ring threw my off.. it is just a standard 15mm rectelinear
(K15/3.5) a rare lens but still that price is way over the top...

Hi every one,
Yep, momentary mental lapse on my part ;-)I thought so, but I'd better ask!![]()
I honestly don't know how they do business with some of the prices they charge, they had a FA28/2.8 about 5 months back for $499 and they sold it (not mint either, I would have called it 7 or 8 out of 10).... Sucker born every day I guess, and eventually they walk past those stores.... This is why the M*300/4 for AUD$699 was amazing, they 'almost' never have fair prices there.... lol...A more correct going rate is probably US$600-650 for a good sample,
I'd be surprised if they manage to sell it even near those $2500...
--Well I think I have a M 300* 4 on the way for $400US. It is rated
a 9+ by the shop that has it on sale. Based on what has been said
I took the plunge. Worst case senario I'll resale it on eBay.
Wouldn't you all agree that it is a good deal?
