Canon i960

Just got off the phone with Canon tech support. My i960 had clogged print head after sitting for a while unused. I used up almost all the ink trying to clean the print head... no luck.

Tech support gave me an option to take it in for repair (I'm in the middle of a project and need it), swap it for a refurbished one - WITHOUT a New Print Head!, or BUY a new Canon at a discounted price. Why they wouldn't send a new print head is beyond me. I love my Canon 10D and will stick with them for digital camera products... but I'm off to buy an Epson Printer.

Yup, I had the head clog several months ago but was able to clear it. This was my second Bad clog. When Canon refused to send a new print head it was pretty easy for me to call it quits with Canon printers. I don't want to buy a new photo printer every year.

I had good luck with the i960 when I was using it alot but let it sit and you may as well open your wallet.

I think I'll get an Epson R1800 and see if I have fewer problems with Epson.
