Hey, I just had a chance to visit Nikon's offical store web site in Japan. And it seems like to me that D70 has been discontinued. I am a Chinese, and so I don't really understand Japanese. If any of you happen to understand Japanese, please visit this link, and let us know that is D70 has been discontunued in Japan.

I am planning to buy a D70 within next several weeks. But if the news is true, then may be I will just wait for a little bit longer for the new model.

Sakemasu, so what you meant is that, it said that the sales has been stopped, but not D70 has been discontinued, right? Coz I got this from other web site saying that D70 has been discontinued and with this link on it, and I would like to verfiy it, but I couldn't...

If you are right, then it seems that's just another rumor anyways.

thanx.

D70s's user manual was leaked from offical nikon sites, so it is very likely that D70s is replacing D70 soon.

and D70s is no big deal compared with D70, according to the specs. but no one know if the image/color quality is the same or not.

Hard to tell for me. If I remeber correctly they stopped to sell D2H from this Online Shop many months ago too, and the next model as you know just started to show up from this Online Shop recently(?).

the fact is that at least this Online Shop site doesn't say anything about "discountinued". On the other hand Nikon's D70 10,000 Yen cash-back sales just ended on 3/31. I don't know what we should read from these facts...

if you dont mind the wait....

you still have to wait (not sure how long)for the new camera to be officially relased.
and wait another few more months for shops around the world to get the new D70s.

and just hope that it's not too expensive for you as the D70 and D70s doesn't seems much a difference for me.... again, bigger LCD, wired remote control, different battery.

hope the financial difference between the D70 and D70s makes the D70s is more value for money.
