i bought the d70 a few days ago and love it

the continuous shooting though sure isnt 3 fps. its more like one, and sometimes not even that

im using a 28-80 nikkor g lense and a ultra 2 flashcard

im not sure what the problem is but even in good light its not rapid fire, its slow and not even consistent, it will shoot a few and stop and start ect.

i didnt think the card would be the reason because the buffer should at least fill up first, maybe its the lens, but the picture seems to be focused

I found that the use of a custom curve slows down the camera. By using the normal curve and very little in camera processing, and setting focus to manual, I can get 3fps.

Step one: Switch off noise reduction. It is dark frame substraction and so doubles the exposure time.

Step two: Check if it is focusing. Switch to manual and see if it is faster. If yes, check again the light conditions and the contrast of your subject.

Step three: If flash is on, ttl and more ttl-remote-command, will slow it down.

I think, these were my favorites to slow my camera :-)

Good Luck

Check to be sure at what image size and quality you're shooting in. Etc, shooting raw isn't as fast as medium jpeg. Check to be sure long exposure noise reduction isn't on and check your focus mode and area. Hope you figure it out.

i was getting very frustrated then today the camera blew off 3.5 fps, in good light outdoors on a sunny day with

i checked the timing on the pictures and it took seven pics over a two second period

honestyly

i wonder how fast this thing will go

this may seem hard to believe but the settings were jpeg large and fine

i found that i can acheive maximum speed with jpeg large fine. but with jpeg medium fine it is slower.
jpeg small is also fast.
