I currently own an FZ20 and absolutely love it - fantastic amount of camera for the money.

Now my dad also likes my camera and wants something similar himself. I have been offered the chance to buy a used FZ10 which has been used only for press reviews from Panasonic directly for just over £100 (approx $185).

I have tested the unit and it seems to work fine and is in perfect condition but just wondered if any users here could suggest if the FZ10 is still a good buy and will it produce similar results to the FZ20?

Thanks :)

I can't compare it to an FZ-20 as I don't own one. However you can check out my gallery to see photos from an FZ-10. Most are right out of the camera no post processing. I would think that at the price you can get it for it would be a bargain.

You won't find a better camera for that price. Had the FZ10 for about 9 months then bought the FZ20. Here is a street shot from last summer.

Good Luck

IMHO

The FZ10 is just a little worse at focusing than the FZ20 but for that money I would buy it, and I have one

Kodak DC-4800
Panasonic FZ-10 and FZ 20
T Con 17 --C210-- Raynox 2020 pro -- Tcon 14 --DCR 720

Just trying to learn and it's slow going!

For that kind of money I'd buy it right away, even if I don't actually need another one.

The performance of the camera per se is not reduced to any degree even if the successors are in some respects impoved.

Say no more! I have a FZ10 and found it to be a great performer. I cant beleive that i saw a FZ10 new in a well known shop here in Australia for $900+ just the other day! Have seen new FZ20 sell for $899. over the counter as well ! Seems to be big price differences!
