We got a surprise visit from our friend June, with here little grandaughter, Mikayla, who we had not seen for almost three years. It was a nice Xmas visit and although they were only going to say for about an hour, June asked me to play a few songs on my digital keyboard. This led to Grandma and Mikayla dancing to the music

They were having so much fun that I played longer than I had intended. Pretty soon, Mikayla tired and...

decided to rest with her legs upward on the couch as our loveable cat, Muffin, curious like all cats decided to come over to inspect this little visitor.

It was enjoyable. Their visit lasted four hours instead of the intended one and both of us were delighted as well.

These photos were taken by my wife with her P&S P72 using flash.

Reading and enjoying yours (and Barb's) shots is always a joy. The way you describe things, the story is as important I think, as the shot. Lovely series btw. And thanks for sharing.

Those small, apparently daily routine events, are the reasons for our happiness. You described very nicely the event's essence and spirit.

Thank you,

There is nothing like visits from friends. There is a polish proverb which loosely translated means "Guest at home - God at home".

The first photo is fascinating. I do not know what it is but it looks "different". Did you do anything unusual to that photo before posting?

No, Ted, Mikayla was singing one of her Christmas carols and that's what prompted me, at their suggestions, to start the music on the keyboard.

I can only think that the combination of the strong floor lamp and the flash combined made the picture. I wish it could all be that easy. Thanks for replying, Ted. Always appreciated.

A nice series of a daily life even. It looks like that you all had a great time, manytimes the hapiness cames from small daily events.

Best Regards,

JESUS

You are so right, Jesus...and we like it that way. We are simple folk here just taking things as they come every day. Thanks for your comment.
