I have an old "Vivitar zoom Thyristor 2500" flash that I inherited from my brothers old 35 mm camera days. It has the hot shoe mount with what looks like one pin in the middle of the shoe. It is powered by just 2 AA batteries.

My question: Can I use this flash safely on my Fujifilm finepix S7000 ?

Based on what I found on this sight:

You should be fine. I used a Canon Speedlite 133A which is also an auto Thyristor flash and get very good results from it.

Thanks Morris,

I was worried that I might screw up my camera....after some the the things I was hearing. I had tried it a couple of times...and had some pretty good results, but heard it might fry my camera! So I stopped.
Thanks for the reply......

btw...I love the waterfoul pics you post! I'm still trying....I live next to a lake here in Pa. Most of the birds are gone south now, but there's always next season.
