Has anyone else noticed that the photos from their cp950 are a little pale? Is this characteristic of the camera or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike, I don't know about the low saturation with the 950. I haven't experienced this myself. I'm just guessing, but it could be caused by overexposure ( check to make sure your exp compensation is neutral in M-rec), or that contrast is turned down.
As to fsdaf, I think the only point he has is on his head.

Those of us who use to own Kodaks or Sony Digi cameras, can achieve more of the "color look", by adding 15 to the saturation within PS. Very effective.

Yes, I have had the camera for over two years and that is exactly what I do. I was just wondering if maybe there is a problem with the camera.

I don't think it's a problem with the camera, just a different implementation philosophy. Nikon opts for having the minimum interference in your pictures, thus leaving you with more space to work them out later. Other cameras do all the sharpening and saturation boost so you won't have to worry working the image out. As I don't like the idea of a computer deciding everything for me, I do prefer Nikon's approach.
Herbet.
