I have just bought a 20D from Pixmania (at a good price) only to discover that it is delivered with a set of French manuals and a French power cord. After an hour spent trying to get through to complain, I was told about the terms and conditions that I hadn't read. A manual from Canon will now cost me £13 and I have requested a power adaptor from Pixmania (or should that be pismania?).

For a company selling lots of gear into England from an English website, is it too much to ask that they supply equipment that is fit for its purpose?

Never ceases to amaze me that one...............Why do people not read terms and conditions?? Not trying to be smart, but believe me, you should always read these things before ordering from a supplier with whom you are dealing for the first time.

Credit card companies make a mint from people who dont read terms and conditions - they sign up to get a credit card with some "headlline offers" and hide the fact that there is no interest free period in the small print aka terms and conditions.

Having said that, pixmania do what they say on the tin. Great prices, reasonably quick delivery, but ALWAYS french/European goods.
Enjoy your camera nonetheless.

You can download the 20D manual from Canon's web site. I'd post a link, but the download page I found was an ASP (Active Server Page), which had to be navigated into. But Canon readily offers it for download.

As for the power cord, can you not rig one up? The charger end should be the same. You should only have to replace the end for your power mains. The charger is multi-voltage, so no worries there.

I know this isn't optimal, but it's cheap.

It's a standard charger cable. very easy to find/beg/borrow or steal (Or simply use one of those silly adapter thingies that I always need when heading to the auld country).
