Hello everybody. I have silently enjoyed this forum before and after I got the D70. But now I have experienced something strange. Some days ago this image came out of my D70!

As far as I can se it contains fragments of at least 3 other images on the memory card, and the colors is way off in some of the fragments. When the image is viewed in ACDsee is says “The source data stream is corrupt”

My memory card is a 512 mb Kingston Elite Pro
The original file is here: http://www.webdrup.dk/DSC_0704.JPG

Has anybody seen anything like this? Is it the camera or the memory card that caused the problem?

Thanks
Jan

Yes I've seen this before. In all instances its been an incompatibility between the camera and the CF card. Did you just get the card. Did you format the card with the D70 before using it?

Same thing happened with a fuji p&s that I used before I got my D70.
The file system on the memory card was corrupt and wrote one pix on
top of another.
Was it possible to fix the problem? Will formatting the card do any good or is it the card that is "broken"?

I have experienced the problem twice out of a 1000 shoots

I did format the card with the D70. But I have problems transferring images from the camera to the computer. However the is no ploblem when I use a card reader.
Maybe I should have spent the ekstra money and gotten the Sanddisk

I was able to reformat the card, but it was unreliable and would have the same problem over and over again. Ended up trashing the card because I keep losing pix due to the error.

Thanks Mike. It seem like the card died today. So now I don’t have to worry about the error. I will just send it in and get a new.

Best Wishes
