Lady in my bed + wide converter

Do you know her?

Sorry about that rather pathetic joke. I must say looking at the picture again I like it more, but I think it would be better with a bit less door, and more lady - maybe a leg draped over the end of the bed and one bent with the knee in the air, but so you still cant see her waist. Perhaps also wait till the lights a bit softer and even - orangy if it ever goes that colour.

Graham,

I understand the joke, my title was inviting.

Thank you for good advice!

This is kind of a snapshot, I "discovered" the leg first after the
shot was taken.

What do you think of the wide converter - the abnormal curves it
generates?
The lens does have an enormous amount of barrel distortion, but it is good for the occasional arty shot if that is the look you are after.

You can correct the perspective if you wish (with some loss of picture at the corners which are pushed outward) with Helmut Dersch's PanoTools plug-ins or a program called 'Debarrelizer', both easily turned up through Google. Of course, you could keep the distortion also if you wish, but in my personal opinion the shot you have taken doesn't benefit from it. However, the lighting is nice and natural-looking morning light and I wouldn't turn it orange or anything or put the woman's legs all in there that just makes it a completely different kind of shot than what I think you intended, and if I read that right, then I think the distortion is working against you in this shot.

Yes, you can eliminate the curves with one of the many software solutions. I use Power Retouche to eliminate any barrel distortion in my S60.

There are many others, some are free. I picked the above based on several pro recommendations, but I'm sure they all work well.

DB,

Thanks for advice, - that is what makes this forum so incredible useful. I´ll check up the "Debarrelizer" - hopefully it also is in a Mac version.

I have to admit the picture is a snapshot. Since I got my G5 this summer, I have it with me always, and find any excuse to make a shot. The G5 is for me a black jewel ...

Well, the extension of the barrel distortion baffeled me, and I would hear from you experienced guys what you thought about it.

I agree, the distortion do not contribute any value to the picture, rather the opposite.
