Post your favorite "Fall" photos!

Hi vjeane. Your shot is very real, and exactly what I would see if I were there. I like these kind of shots, because of that.

For this series, considering fall is just around the corner for
many of us, lets try posting our favorite fall photos. I know most
of us didn't even have the Rebel last fall, so any camera shots
will be just fine. We are actually having an early fall in
Nebraska, and for the last several days, I have been able to
capture some interesting fall colors. Fall looks different,
depending on where you live, so please show us Fall in your area!
As always, Rebel shots are great, but all shots accepted
(especially for this series :) Good luck!

P.S. Wanted to say thank you to everybody, for all the wonderful
shots you have contributed to this series. I think when people
visit our forum, or when we receive new members for the first time,
these photos show them what excellent photographers we have, and
the passion and love for photography that exist in the Rebel forum!

Here are a few to start things off!

That'a a winner shot, Jim! Nice composition, and it isn't processed to death. It's very real looking, and very nice.

That's a really nice shot. What a majestic looking old structure.
Where is it located?
This is in the North East of England....We are really quite
fortunate here, in that there are ancient monuments, ruins, castles
scattered all over the place. Also of course, there is Hadrians
Wall...
I wish I was there! The oldest thing around here I have to shoot, is my own house :)

These are wonderful shots. I love it when a photographer sees the beauty in scenes such as this. Fantastic work!

While it looked like fall around it, this little flower stood strong.

I've taken thousands of autumn colour shots but strangely it's this one that always appeals to me most

Yes it's mainly dead, dry leaves but for me it evokes that feeling that winter has really arrived.

Anyway, down here in the Southern Hemisphere it's almost spring, so try this one instead.

I have to confess, though that neither of these shots are from digital cameras; the prunus leaf was taken with a Pentax 67II and the daffodils with a Hasselblad X-pan, both on Fuji Provia 100.

I can see why you feel this way about. It's real. It instantly provokes the the feeling of fall. Nicely done.

That's also a nice one! You folks are warming up, while we will be chilling down. What is winter like for you there?

Well, it's cold enough for bulbs like daffodils and tulips to thrive. New Zealand is a long narrow country so it covers a fair latitude range - warm temperate and frost-free in the north, much closer to the Antarctic in the south. Overall our winter's aren't too tough. I'm in Christchurch, which is midway down the South Island, around 44° south, but it's far warmer in winter than the equivalent northern latitude in the US - zone 9 in US gardening terms. That said, it's also cooler in summer. That's just the effect of being adrift in a huge ocean, I suppose.

Hi Geir! Those clouds around the top of the hills are beautiful! I
love the second shot also. What is winter like for you there? How
cold does it get?
Our winters are mild but wet. Average temperature in february (the coldest month) is about 1 or 2 °C. We don't have snow so often. Usually we have a day or two going down to -10 °C and the coldest ever measured is -16 °C. However, if you move away from the coast and to the inland it is usually considerably colder.

Our winters in the Midwestern part of the US, are like roller coaster rides. Up one day, down the next. It can be 80 degrees in December, or 20 below zero, it changes all the time. By the way, the picture you just posted looks like a postcard. Beautiful.

I've to say.. that's some variation! It mostly varies between 30 and 40 degrees (Fahrenheit) here during winter time. I wonder, how does a digital camera act when it's 20 °F below zero? It was about 20 °F (above zero!) on the the coldest day I ever used my Canon S40 outside, and that was no problem. Well, you know what they say: With Canon, you can!
