Canon 20D link here

I have no problem with the Canon system. In fact I think it's better in a lot a ways. It's just with ergonomics, I find the Nikons are far better field cameras in terms of handling. The D2H is in my opinion the best handling camera so far.

I remember when I was taking an interactive design class, I was taught the less steps it takes the user to get to the information the better. That's how cameras should be designed!
It must be said to day for Nikon to read all this talk about Canon
in this Nikon Forum. But they are the only one producing cameras
for the semi to pro users right now. I am tired as all are hearing
the rummors of the D2x.

Here it is. Look at this link for the Canon 20D.

I followed a link to the Canon website last night (Australian Time) and they had the 20D listed with some high rez pics. They page was visible for about 4 hours before Canon pulled it down again. I guess they were in the process of testing all the weblinks or something. The link was posted in one of the Canon SLR forums. Needless to say, the 20D and the two new lenses were authentic (especially as they were listed on the Canon pages). Not sure what you folks think of it just yet but I'm curious to see what the Nikon users would make of the 20D since you'll likely be a bit more critical of it's shortcomings and that's usually where the more interesting opinions and observations lie.

Anyone with half a brain who has spent any time with Canon SLR cameras can easily get acquainted with the Canon layout. It's not any better or any worse. It's just different. Although admittedly, the 1D series layout could use a refresh because it basically dates back to the 1V film days. At any rate, it hasn't hurt Canon much at all, as evidenced by this recent photo:

And you can probably bet that not all those photographers started out with Canon.

it's not bogus. i saw it last night on canons web page.

8.2mp
5fps
25 shot buffer
9point AF
comes with some sort of general zoom lens, though i forget the measurements

and there was a 10-22mm EF-S 3.5-4.5 lens listed on the page as well.
http://www.sdcard.be/Nederlands/store/viewitem.asp?idproduct=8979348

that page says 8.2MB in one spot, but a file size of 3072x2048 in
another (6MP), and $2300 euro...

I won't believe anything until I see it on the manufacturer's web
site or DPReviews news page....

As if "craptacular" is "better than that" and not worthy of your same admonishment. LOL :-P

What matters more to you? What they do? Or what you do?

All I'm saying is that there is this lonely road, known as the high road, and sometimes its better to take it.

I can't verify the specs of the machine but I followed the same link and verified the URL once I followed it... Canon had hi-res images of several new digicams and the 20D was the only DSLR they showed off.

The lens info is in the picture...

It is a 17 - 85 USM + IS Kit Lens but it starts at f/4 (not bad for a bundle and the IS is nice but not needed).

I ain't 'ja bro. And if I were, I'd tell you to grow up, "dude". And no one's dissing Nikon. No one's being paid to do it either. But I'd gladly take a 1D MKII as payment for calling Nikon "craptacular".

I actually loved the way the F4 handled once upon a time. Having used a F2 for many years, the F4 was second nature. Then came the F5 which was different and a little Canon-like if you're a traditionalist but the D2H. It's the best handling camera in the world! You could take the thing to war and have bullets zinging past your ear and still not lose touch of the camera operations.

I don't see what all the fuss is about. The "rumored" features for the 20D are about what anybody would expect on a 10D replacement as part of Canon's evolution for this market segment. It's not as if acheiving those features would be much of a stretch for Canon. They don't represent any real innovation over other offerings by Canon.
