Hi All,

Challenge 22 is about to begin but first I'd like to thank Karthik for a very successful challenge and a popular theme. Many people enjoyed the challenge topic "Head and Shoulders". The galleries are filled with quality images and I enjoyed viewing everyone's work. Nice to see quite a few new people entering the challenge. Thanks to all for taking the time to comment on people's work. Thanks for voting for my image of MacKenzie. I appreciate all of the positive comments! I am honored to host Challenge 22.

Congratulations to Samuel Tran for your outstanding image in the Exhibition Gallery. Very well done Samuel!
If you haven't viewed the galleries, please take a look at Challenge 21:
http://www.pbase.com/cslr_challenge/cslr21_headandshoulders

Well Karthik, you are a hard act to follow but I hope everyone will be open minded and consider the next theme:

Challenge 22: Flight

Aerial navigation, aeronautics, soaring, flying, gliding, journey by air, aviation, fleeing, running away, soaring above the ordinary, a set of stairs as between landings, a fleeing from danger. You may interpret flight in any context you wish. As always the voters will decide which images best portray flight. The galleries are open and ready for Challenge 22: Flight.
I encourage you to comment on people's work. Challenge 22 begins NOW.

If you have any questions or concerns, please post them in this thread.

Have fun and stretch yourself photographically. You might want to try a shot you've never done before. I'm looking forward to seeing some very creative interpretations of our challenge topic: Flight.

Best regards,
Roberta Fair

Fantastic! I actually hosted a CTF challenge with this very same topic....mid 2003. It proved to be one of the most popular challenges, and really brought out some great work.

Looks like the local (tiny) airport might get a visit from me this weekend :-)

I second those comments. I really like this topic. In fact, last Saturday, I went out and took some shots of birds in flight instead of trying to shoot head and shoulders (although I did try that on Sunday, without much successs). Hopefully, I can get more flight shots this weekend. If not, maybe I'll post some of last weekend's shots in Exhibition.

First of all Congratulations on the win Roberta. Well done. I loved looking at the photos in your gallery... (there's lot's of them too.)

Karthik... once again... thank you for the previous challenge... I learned a lot. YAY!!

And thank you to those who voted for my photos and gave me a boost of confidence. Just keep the comments comming on the photos so I can learn more.

Now for this topic....

Boy, Oh Boy! Hmmmm. How does a guy with only one (kit rebel) lens capture flight. This one is going to be tough. I've got some Ideas, but it's going to take quite some creativity for me. I don't even know someone with a chicken farm. (love to catch one of those flying!).

Oh well, it certainly will be a challenge for me.... Here we go!

Hi Roberta,

Thanks for remembering my jellyfish image and for checking out my gallery. I just finished uploading some of my shots from last Saturday. That was a great day for flight shots.

I have posted my first entry into Exhibition. Just trying to be creative on a budget. Comments welcome.

Don't we all wish...

Ps... Photos were taken a while ago, but the montage was done after midnight tonight while I'm supposed to be sleeping. LOL

Congrats to Roberta on her win - for a change a winner I actually voted for!

3 entries into Exhibition for me already, a no-brainer this time as this is something I do when I can't think of anything else to shoot!

No idea what I'm going to do for Eligible though.
Now, where did I put that Creative Sauce...?

It doesn't have to be birds or airplanes or other far-away subjects, for it to be flying. Some bugs, like bees, butterflies and such, are known to be flying once in a while. It really could be any object thrown as well, like a ball or a vase. As Roberta uses the word flight it doesn't even have to be flying - like she said, it could be a flight of stairs or people flighting a down-poor or some other disaster... Lots and lots of room for interpretation...

Congratulations Roberta. I loved that shot.

I just downloaded an image into the exhibition gallery. Pbase took the image but I cannot edit & update the info to put in my name etc. Any suggestions?

Got to keep this short - my sister's dial-up connection is already driving me crazy.
Congratulations on a great shot and well-deserved win!

Your choice is a very broad topic leaving a lot of room for interpretation. I'm off to Venice beach today to shoot buildings and people, but I'm sure flight can be worked into this :)

A big congrats, a bit late. Sorry I wasn't here during the voting, otherwise you would have gotten some more points from me too :-)
