Hi Sander,

The 2nd one is my favorite. I'm also having fun with the combo. Here is one of mine,

Hoi Ed,

if you believe in rumours and such, there is suposed to be a follow-up to that lens, a AF-S 100-300mm f/2.8 VR, maybe that will flood the secondhand market with 70-200's and push down the retail price a bit, I know I'd be tempted...

Thanks for commenting Ed.

I always look forward to seeing your work.
Thanks RFC,

me too, love seeing your city photography in NYC, any chance on a Bronx Zoo session sometime? Or maybe Coney Island, I was there during a winter day once and all was abandonned, very eerie looking and it offered lots of photographic potential.

I liked them. Ran thru a wide spectrum of photos. Well done.
Thanks you Harris,

yes I was bored so I went and plowed through some old folder to find some stuff, glad you like them Harris.

A difficult shot captured well.
Indeed, I had to wait for it to swoop by like that for quite some time, thanks for having a look Jeff, i appreciate it.

It is my belief that all it takes is a good location and lots of patience, and of course the bokeh of the 70-200 helps a lot in creating the mesmerizing soft backgrounds...

Thanks for commenting Ed.

Of course, I love the birds too, but that goes
without saying!
Well I'm glad you did say it :)
So how's the processing coming? [smirk]

Model D100
Focal Length 400 mm
Was this the 70-200 + TC? Or the 80-400 + 500D?

I love the second one Sander. DOF is sensational. Perfect!
Thanks for the compliment Rehab, I'm glad you like it :)

So how was your day? Mine's just starting :( Rainy outside and a day full of work-meetings....

oh well, tomorrow maybe I'll visit another birdshow if the weathers allows for it.

I don't have 80-400, it's 70-200vr plus TC20II plus 500D. When using this combo, I find it's very cumbersome to use tripods to shoot such agile critters.

I know what you mean, you have to have lot's of room when using such a big contraption, I had the same thing with the 70-200 + TC14 + 500D, some nice photos with the Gitzo 1228 + Kirk BH-3, but at those extreme closeups down at groundlevel I wish I had my 70-810 micro again, which is of course much smaller and easier to handle and those difficult to reach places.

I really love #2. What a creative use of DOF. Keep up the good work.
Hi Bob, thanks for dropping by, also thanks again for the advise on Utah.

hope to catch one today too, but I fear they won't come as close to me as they did in Germany...
