I believe that besides the body the lenses are of major importance, well you also may feel free to find all a waste of time.

Hi jacques

Its a nice series and I also like the bw mode in the camera it gives a good range of tones, thats quite a nice list of lenses you used that day.

Good to see you posting your series, I looked though the series on your site also, perhaps I will post some pics here also.

Dear Mark,

The shooting in the mine building and also outside, will be posted maybe tonight has been a very, vey fine couple of hours.

One cann't force the feeling of, just make good use of the feeling of.

With this series I think I'm back in the way I realy like to photograph.

People without seeing people, but all their efforts, efforst ending in total desaster, but still full of beauty.

The originals, wel I mean the larger images do have a bit more to offer, but these smaller versions still have the serenity of pure shapes,

jacques.

And yes, ofcourse I enjoyed reading your comments.

Photographing is too easy, just too many images to work on. Well work on, for me means almost just resizing and a bit of contrast and brightness.

Hi jacques,

Very nice series. Went through your gallery and it was really a joy to look at them. My personal favorite:

Thanks for sharing

Dear Egbert,

Well you know I most, well I think all of the time am straight forward in telling if or not and why I do like or dislike a photograph.

You have to be sure I always ment what I wrote about your photographs and be sure above all I think you are in great progress. Your photographs are becoming more and more interesting.

Sorry it's just me I cann't give you some highly appreciated award, but you are working in the right direction.

If the subject is family related or not, I think isn't of any real importance, but showing an interesting viewing angle is all what it is about.

Of course I feel flattered you did like the album,

jacques.

I can use my old Nikon MF F1.4 on the S2. In all my years of photography, that little baby always delivered. It is my all time favorite lens. I have used 1x a 2x bayonet extenders and she still did not fail. Now I know what my next body is going to be. These are wonderful AL photographs.

Hi Jacues, some interesting photos some of which I liked some I found hard to appreciate. For example the patterns and shapes in the last two chair shots are very nice but in the first pic of the toilet the patterns are good but I think the rubbish on the floor spoils the whole image. I am fairly new to photography so would like to know if I am missing the point of this shot.

Love the way your camera takes B&W by the way, I have always read that it is better to convert to b&w from colour. It would be interesting to here what your thoughts are on subject. Cheers, Kevin.

Thank you JackB,

I think S2 has the best 'real B/W film build in the camera',

jacques.

And yes it's usable from 100 upto 1600 ISO (and the 1600 ISO also under conditions you realy need 1600 ISO),

jacques.

Thank you lovelife,

I agree it's kind of wonderfull a 'modern' DSLR can deliver high quality B/W photographs.

What you get is a fine detailed in high lights as well as in low lights 'negative', which with almost no effort can be made a bit more contrasly, still holding the details one wants to remain,

jacques.

Dear Kevin,

For me the rubbish on the toilet floor is part of real live too. He you might be OK because you didn't got the smell delivered ;-))

I just love documenting decay, decay of buildings, but also of smaller details.

Paint peeling of the walls, smashed window glasses, rust breaking through the paint of structures, walls fillled in with different coloured and shaped bricks.

In the album there are lots more:

Made in B/W mode:

http://www.pbase.com/jacques/beringer_bw_inside_th_ebuilding&page=all

made in standard colour mode:

http://www.pbase.com/jacques/beringer_bw_inside_th_ebuilding&page=all

Sory you will get another toilet image, but now in colour as well.

UNder construction a gallery made outside the building, partly in B/W partly in colour, but all with same lens 70-200 VR 2.8. The ones made in the building are made with quite a coupl eof different lenses, as I thinkit's nice to do different things, withthe perspective, by using different lenses,

jacques.

Nice work Jacques,

I especially like the first, which I think works well compositionally, with all the surrounding detritus. Good idea for a theme!

Greg

Thank you Greg,

I think, well I even might write know, you would have been very happy to be shooting in that building too.

And outside thsi main building you find all kind of oher building, many in too bad shape to enter, but with wonderfull textures and colours created by decay, years of weather tearing the buildings down and now filled with crappy old tools,

jacques.

Hoi Miel,

Inside the building I split into a B/W and a colour gallery, I made the B/W and colour images just as they apear, which can be seen in the numbering.

And yes, Saterday we leave for three weeks in Czechy, one week east of Prague, last two weeks near the German border.

I wish I can be just a bit as productive in the coming weeks asI have been yesterday in Beringen,

your friend jacques.
