Wow, thats great. Did you use superfine mode? and if so how noticible are any jpeg artifacts in the original? Thanks

I went out a couple nights ago, and found sunsets to be pretty challenging
to photograph. There is a tendency towards too much yellow, and the
highlights are often blown away. I didn't play with white balance, etc.,
but have concluded that I need to try that.

My first sunset shot. I just pointed and shoot. This is from the tropics. Not as good as yours. Just to show what S10 is capable of even in an amature's hand.

i used 1600*1200 superfine. I also had the gain at +1. most importantly i spot metered on the SKY. the ability to spot meter is very useful and certainly a big plus for the s10. would be nice if i could do multiple spot though, and if the area was smaller

Here's another example I shot in Hawaii. The picture was taken in superfine
quality and small size. I stopped the exposure down to -1.0 to increase
the red color of the sky, which looked like that to my eye.
