Please bear with me but ever since I picked one up in my sweaty palms so many months ago I knew the E-10 was for me!

Two weeks ago I was in Orlando hoping to pick one up and was most disappointed to find that no one even knew what I was going on about.

Ok I thought, if I can't get the camera here I'll buy the accesssories, no chance, "microdrive, what is this?" Arrgh!

So after all the hassle I've decided to buy locally in the UK and be done with it. At least then if I get the dreaded dead pixels etc, etc, then I can return the camera easily - E-10 day, here I come!!!!!!!

Ahh No Colin
you haven't committed yourself to buying this terrible. . . . .
:-)

Actually, I think you're wise to buy the camera in the UK. It really isn't that much more expensive, has the right video output (not sure if I'll ever use it) and will certainly have a better trade in value (in the unlikely event that you ever want to trade it in).

Not so sure about the accessories, but I've bitten the bullet and bought mine here - seemed simpler in the end.

I almost envy you your excitement :-). Still - unlike so many new toys, the initial excitement just seems to grow - I've had mine for five months now, and it's totally revitalised my flagging interest in photography.

I love it, and I'm sure you will too.

just one word, don't allow frustration with 'out of focus' 'noisy' whatever, shots to get to you during the first week or two - soon you'll find it all comes naturally. And if I were you I wouldn't bellyache about dead/dying/sick pixies either - if you can't see 'em on the prints . . . . they ain't there! (or at least, they ain't relevant).

Just enjoy it.

kind regards

Thanks for the kind words Jono, this camera will be the first digital stills camera I've bought, so I haven't had the expectation of going through the

1.3 to 2.1 to 3.3 milestones that other people have - I'm just jumping straight in at 4.0!

With such a great forum frequented by such knowledgable, generous people, I'm sure any teething problems will be easily forgotten.

I just can't wait to take some shots of Tazzie my cocker spaniel; he's just had a hip op. so is a bit poorly at the moment, but he's a beautiful dog.
Watch this space!

Colin,

Welcome to the club and looking forward to those pics of your pet.

Yippeeeeee!!

E-10 has finally landed and what a camera!!! :) All the agonising about this and that...YO YO YO!

I also got a 340MB but 'had to buy it' before the shop would let me try it in the E-10 :( thankfully it worked straight off - phew!

I haven't sussed how to swap between CF and SM, but that's what the manual's for so I'm about to retire and read.

Bit of a pain the NiMnh batts. taking 15hrs to charge, at this rate I'll have to keep two sets of batteries 'hot bunking' in the charger, especially for all the pics I want to take over the next few days!
Good times!

regards,
Colin
